Garrett Pro Pointer AT. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants-- Thomas Jefferson 1 members found this post helpful. The is very old and technology has changed since then, also from test I've seen the AT generally beats it. If money were no object I'd get the Deus without a question.Devil may cry nsp
It's also multi-freq. First off, cool to see this community carved out. Excited to poke around here over the next few days. Always been a solo MD'er down near Charleston, SC and got into things after uncovering a plantation sight on the property I live on. Had some fun find where with an old Garrett I had.Route 50 car accident
Eventually upgraded to a White's MTX when they were doing the "" package. I've loved the detector and had great luck. Paid for itself on the first day out when I dug a Nova Constellatio piece that I must been over a dozen times before. Been working with some people in the area to target new sites and am getting some family members interested in going out with me.
Looking for a detector that would be a good compliment to the MTX. It would be my parents throwing down for things and my dad has a tendency to go all out when he goes for something but I'm also not looking for him to just throw his money away.
The light weight package of the Deus is attractive and the features look bomber. I like the depth and target size capabilities of the GTI. I also live coastal and am eyeing a few Rev war sites that are water side and having the cost effect, water proof, tried and true work horse of the AT Pro could be great is there a version 2 coming out? I'd love to track something down would compliment the MTX well.
Anyone have hands on experience with any of the above? Would love and welcome any opinions as I'm driving myself a bit nuts looking at reviews and comparing. I know there's a massive spread in the price points of these machines but I've learned that having a quality machine can mean the difference between that once in a life time find and just another day. Just trying to balance it all out. Skip the GTI's! I agree. The V3i offers target sizing and I never use it.
It's not something you want to base digging a target off of. It's easier just to size the target area by sweeping the coil over and around the target. You'd miss a lot of good stuff by relying on target sizing. Weight is super lite and wireless is great in the brush. The depth is etrac like and will do small gold and still kill on relics. Now I'm fine.
By the way, thanks for all your videos, I like to watch all the detectors you test. I wish a lot of success in the future and look forward to more tests.
I'm surprised how bad the Garrett did in that video, I found the Garrett Ace to be a deep detector and I would think it would handle that test mostly fine and it's a cheaper model. I'm certainly not questioning your video but it's disappointing to see the Garrett do so badly. If you want to have more coin depth than AT-gold, you need to have a longer coil on this detector It's a gold detector because its ,Ground filterRX gain, recovery speed and iron Bias are set tightly enough - optimized for fine gold.
I already have those test videos on my channel. My soil is mild. Have the videos on my channel of the other 2 detectors. The majority of my sites are plowed fields heavily infested with iron and I had begun to realize that the AT was not separating well and the majority of my finds were very shallow.
I believe that most of my finds with the AT were items that were freshly turned up to the top layer of the soil above the bed of nails. On sites with low levels of trash the AT Pro performed well enough allowing me to find deeper targets.
I am looking forward to the rain stopping long enough for my sites to dry out enough to hit them with the new ORX. The attached photo is an example of what I have to put up with on my sites. This is an eroded area on one of the fields. Notice the iron and small lead shot. Great video. Unfortunately Garret has a better marketing program the XP so people will continue to buy the inferior product.
Maybe your video will save someone from making a mistake. I bought my wife a AT gold several years ago I see you guys are using Garret carrots for pin pointers. I have two of them. It's my favorite pin pointer but both have had issues.1998 ford taurus repair service shop set factory
I put it away intending to send it back and bought another, The new one after a while the light would stay on after it was turned off. This would drain the battery. So I put it away intending to send it back. A couple months have went by and I checked the other one and the light is permanently off when the unit turns on and now the battery is not getting drained.

This post will serve as a guide as you make your wish come true. Tuesday, January 19, Which One? I've been using it now for a couple of years with no complaints. Well maybe a few complaints in the wet sand but for the most part the AT Pro has been rock solid and I would still recommend it to anyone for both land and "fresh"water use. I've read a lot good reviews about and talked to some folks who love the machine so my mind was almost made up. The area we were hunting had a lot of iron in the ground and the AT Pro had no issues telling me there was iron in the ground!
In fact, it was ridiculously hot with iron to the point it gave me a headache. At the end of the day, he ended up digging a V nickel right next to a hole that I had dug earlier that day but all I got was iron scrap.
There was just so much iron that I couldn't hear what he was hearing.Goan surnames caste
The Deus was able to cut through the iron signals enough to hear that high pitch that we all love to hear but with amazing separation. On the positive side, I did walk away with a bunch of really nice axe heads and so did Ted but he also found a large cent, V nickel, and an Indian head penny while his friend Lonnie also using the AT Pro and myself didn't find any coins.
If you want to see the video of our hunt here is the link. XP Deus Prior to this hunt, I had heard and read about the Deus from a few forums and my local distributor had one and I looked at it but I wasn't quite sold on it at that point. It was strange being all wireless with the guts all packed into the coil itself.
It's a completely different concept but one that has slowly started to win me over. Then to top it all off, Aquachigger comes out with a new video based on the metal detectors he uses and why he uses them.
Close to the end of his video he pulls up the Deus and talks about it but then he makes a statement that completely shocked me.They are nothing like the machines you have mentioned. The attraction for the Deus is the total wireless set-up and the ability to update the software.
Coils are very expensive compared to the T2. You can buy at least 2 coils for the T2 for less money than one coil for the Deus.
Don't get me wrong, I really like my Deus but you asked if it was worth the extra money. I have no experience with the ATX but I have used a pulse induction machine and it is not for a coin hunter especially if you hunt parks and yards. If you want a machine for relic hunting or hunting in fields where you dig any non-ferrous target a pulse induction makes sense.
The pulse induction would also work better in a salt water enviroment. Hope I helped a little. The only places I see them being used are open fields with few targets such as old hunted out sites or battle fields, CW camps. The T2 and F75 for that matter offer a lot for the price.
It's definitely the 1 relic hunting detector in my arsenal, and does very well on coins. The light weight is also a bonus, though not as light as the Deus. You currently have 0 posts.

Looking forward to some opinions and advice :- Dave. The XP Deus looks nice and light and the recovery is quick, however the T2 is probably similar in depth and speed in most areas from what I've seen. The issue you will have with the T2 and Deus is they are single Freq. I'd also probably look into the CTX If you only want one of the 3 you listed I'd pick the Deus assuming you don't hunt salt water much.
